Bitcoin is a so called Cryptocurrency, one of
many, which are traded on stock markets
worldwide like every other currency, but it isn´t
actual money. It is virtual money. It is
decentralized and doesn´t rely on basics of
economy of one single country, which means that
the stability of a Cryptocurrency is harder to
disrupt by upheavals, economics or natural
disasters.
Bitcoins, for example, were developed in 2009
and introduced to the stock market in 2013 at a
value of 102,95€ per coin. It was made aware of
by the press in Summer 2017 , having reached an
unbelievable value of over 5,000€ per coin.
Today, January 2018 the Bitcoin sits at nearly
9,000€ , with a tendency to rise even further. It
had reached almost 17,000€ just before
Christmas.
